Cooper's Prayer

Today at lunch I told Cooper to fold his arm's so that we could say the prayer. He folded his arms and said, "Me say it, me say it!" Nick says," Ok, I will help you." Cooper: "No me." Nick: "Ok, say it." We were all folding our arms and Cooper starts, "Heavenly Father, Thank you day. Bless Emma and daddy. Food. Jesus Christ, Men! Did he just say the prayer all by himself???? Nick and I were shocked and so excited! He did it all by himself with no help! Go Coop!

Cooper's 1st Surgery

On Friday Cooper went in for a T & A (tonsils and adenoids). He was really excited to go in the morning all dressed in his dinosaur pajamas. We got to the surgery center and signed him in and he got a little bear. He was pretty excited! He was having fun pretending to be a dog and not too long after he started playing we were called back. We put his gown on (which he did not like) and sat and watched cartoons for a while. He was getting kind of nervous realizing something was going to happen but, just not so sure what! The doctor and anesthesiologist came and talked to us and told us what was going to happen and then left and we waited a little bit more. The nurse came and asked Cooper if he could take him for a ride on the bed and Cooper said, "No" So, the man asked if he could hold him. Coop again said, "No". The nice man picked up Cooper's blanket and told him he was going to take his blanket for a ride on the bed and Cooper said, "No, you hold me!" So, off they went to give Coop his IV. I was really sad and nervous that some man was taking my little boy back into surgery and I couldn't even got watch! ( I already knew I couldn't go but, still!) They took us to a room and Nick and I waited for only about 30 minutes and then the doctor came in and explained how the surgery went. Cooper had a little more bleeding than expected and so it took a little longer but, all went well. I was sitting in the little room and I could hear some mumbling and whimpering and I looked at Nick and said, 'Oh, there's Coop...I think!" Wow, I never knew I wouldn't know for sure if that was him or not! He sounded the same but a little different. (from all the swelling I'm sure!) It was so sad to see him all out of it and in pain. He didn't really complain of a sore throat but, that his hand hurt, where his IV was. The post-op nurse Suzie was so awesome. We were the only ones in recovery so we just kinda hung out and visited with her while Cooper woke up a little more.
We were discharged and on our way home! Yay! I dropped Cooper and Nick off at home so Cooper could rest and went to Wal-Mart to fill his prescriptions. I picked up a little present and balloon for him for being such a brave little guy! When he finally got up (2 hours later) he opened his present and was so excited for the motorcycle. He played with it up and down the couch and Nick's arm! Later into the day he was running around, jumping, eating bread, asking for hot dogs and pizza (of course, he didn't get to eat those) and acting like nothing had ever happened. Saturday afternoon it started to catch up to him....Poor guy is miserable! He hasn't really complained very much except for the food he wants to eat (pizza, hot dogs, croutons) and I won't let him. Today was kind of a rough day. I went to sacrament meeting at my brother's ward because he was being put into the bishopric and then hurried home so Nick could make it to our ward to teach Primary. Cooper didn't like the idea that he couldn't go. (I left while he was in the shower so he didn't even notice but, when Nick left Coop hurried and got his church shoes so he could go with him but, he had to stay home. He is not feeling well even though he will tell you he is but, we will hopefully see some progress this week! :) Thanks to everyone for your concern and support. Also, for the yummy dinner, popsicles and Cooper's fun new toys and balloons. He LOVES all his new fun stuff!
We love you all and appreciate it so much!

Reminiscing

Today I was having so much fun going through pictures of Cooper. I thought I would post some of my favorites from his first few months old. (I have only made it that far in pics!)
This picture is right after he was born (Feb. 16th, 2006) and they just given him his hep B shot. It was kinda funny because they were having a hard time getting him to cry after he was born. One of the nurses said, "This shot will definitely make him cry!" They gave him his shot and out came a little squeal! He was such a good baby!

His first bath in the hospital. Nick was having so much fun going around with the nurse and helping her with his bath and things. Day 2 at the hospital and he was already looking different to me!

I love this picture of him and Nick. Cooper was only two weeks old and Nick had just gotten home from church and took a nap with him.Our little Michelin Man! 3months old Cooper LOVED rice cereal. He was such a big boy! 4months He also loved bath time! Nick and Cooper on the Deer Hunt! 8 months My little Lion cub! So Cute! 8 monthsI LOVE going through pictures and remembering all the fun and not so fun times. I was really bad at keeping a Journal after I had Cooper so as I have been going through these pictures I have been writing in a Journal so that I can have these memories written down before I forget!

New Jammies

Cooper has to get his tonsils out next Friday so I told him he could pick out some new Jammies since we will be going very early for his surgery. Raelie (my niece) came with us. We first went to Gymboree and they didn't have much of a selection and none that were Coop's size. Next off to Oshkosh...They had one rack but they were all fleece footed pajamas....too HOT! We ventured up to Children's Place. They had some and Coop picked out which ones he liked and then I noticed they were long sleeve! All I wanted was short sleeve and nowhere seemed to have them. I was about ready to give up and then Raelie suggested Target cause that is where her mom always goes! :) We drove over to Target and they had a great selection. Cooper picked out some dinosaur ones. They are pretty cute plus we got a 2-set and they were short sleeves-Hooray! So, what I thought would be an easy, quick shopping trip to pick out jams became a hot, sweaty, frustrating hour and a half. Sorry I haven't posted any pics lately. My camera is broke and so hopefully it will be fixed soon!

Done!!!

Hooray! I don't have to go every week and get my blood drawn anymore. I have had my blood drawn 5 times in the last two weeks and it has not been fun. I am surprised I still had blood left to draw. haha I don't want to get my blood drawn again for a LONG time!

Storytime

Kinzie, Andrea, and Emma came over for dinner last week. We were playing games and noticed Cooper had went and got a blanket and a book. He layed down by Emma while she was drinking her bottle, tucked them in, and read her a story.

It was so cute! He would be reading and then show her the pictures! He loves when Emma comes over!
