24th of July

We had a blast at the Brooks Family 24th of July waterslide party! We enjoyed some yummy burgers with smash burger sauce..yum! Cooper couldn't get enough of the slide and Kallie loved the water table. What a fun time! Brooke and me were reminiscing of all the times I would have my bf's at our family parties enjoying the fun and now she is there doing the same. Love it!

4th of July

For the 4th of July this year we did our traditional family swim party and KFC kitchen. We had a blast! Cooper LOVES swimming so he didn't spend much time out of the water. Kallie on the other hand did NOT enjoy it! She pretty much stayed on the lap of someone the whole time :)
After the delicious food and swimming we went home for a few minutes to rest and then headed over to Walt and Jen's for the firework show. We had quite the show....who snuck in those illegal fireworks?!? This was our attempt at a family shot. Coop...not so happy!

The last few months

May Happenings
Cooper had his last day of preschool in May. They did a cute little program of songs they had learned and recited their numbers.
Here is his class all ready to go
Mrs. Morris is a great teacher. Cooper thinks she is the BEST!
After the program they had a water party.

Kallie enjoyed the nice weather and watching the kids play

My Birthday

For my birthday Nick took me to Vegas. Cooper has been begging to go to M&M world ever since he heard about it so we went and checked it out. None of us had ever been there so it was fun to go.Cooper loved seeing the race car! As soon as we got to M&M world Cooper was asking where the "real life" M&M was. We went up the 4 floors way fast just to find the M&M...well, we never found him. Coop was so sad. As we were walking out the doors there he was!! Coop couldn't stop talking about him! We stopped at RainForest Cafe for a bite to eat before we headed home. Coop was pretty entertained and enthralled by all the rain forest animals. It's amazing how I can't manage to get one picture of Cooper looking at the camera!!

Summertime Fun

I guess it is pretty HOT outside when you find a dog in the ducks water tub I could hear Toby squawking SO loud so I went outside and found Ossie (Bonnie's dog) in Toby's water tub. It was pretty funny!

Coop has been enjoying sleepovers with cousins We came into the living room that morning and this is how we found the boys. I couldn't find Brenden and then I saw legs by his pillow. :)

Making a GIANT cookie for Grandpa
My dad LOVES oatmeal raisin cookies so for Father's Day we make him a GIANT one!

I AM A POLICE MAN Cooper found this Police hat in the $1 section at Target. He loves his hat! He claims he now a Police Man :)

Brooks Family Reunion

We had our 2nd Brooks Reunion this year and it was so much fun! We went up to Navajo Lake. It was gorgeous and the weather was awesome except it was freezing at Night. Cooper had so much fun he didn't want to leave. There is something about him and being in the mountains. He listens better, sleeps better, eats better, etc.. We might have to move to the mountains ;)
Cortney & Kay brought up this fun game that they played at Youth Conference called "Corn Hole" it was way fun! The kids also made some crafts that turned out darling!
Here is all the clan who was there! Dad's hair looked awesome ;)
Our favor tie time of course was chow time! We had the most delicious Navajo Tacos, Fried Chicken, Potatoes, Homemade Root beer, salads and desserts. The kids went to the Navajo Lake and were able to go rowing in the boats and went hiking to the spring. The also enjoyed some yummy snow cones. Thanks to all the adults that took them. And of course campfire fun! Jason and Kalynn brought the biggest marshmallows ever! They were so yummy! I think Brooke won the prize for the "most perfectly roasted marshmallow"!!

We had a ton of fun but missed Nick (he had class), Warren's family, and some of the Caplin family! We are already excited for next year!!

This boy....Oh boy...he is such a crazy little man! I love him to death but oh how he might put me to my death! He comes up with the most interesting ideas. He is so full of energy! Last Friday around 2am he came into our room crying that his foot was hurting SO SO bad. I told him it would be ok, hop into our bed and go to sleep. He crawled in and whimpered all night. I thought he was having growing pains but oh how I was wrong. The poor guy had a huge blister on the back of his heel that was full of puss with a big black thing in the middle (which happened to be a little rock) His little heel was all red around the infected blister. I explained to him that we needed to pop it and clean out the infection for it to heal...so I layed him on the counter and before I got going on surgery ;) I picked up the matches and moved them to the other counter. He got the most panicked look on his face and said, "MOM...Are you going to light me on FIRE?!!?"
I explained to him I would NEVER EVER light him on fire! He cracks me up!

He'll Carry You by Hillary Weeks

Perfect Song

I was listening to Pandora this morning as I was printing off a few things for my lesson and I heard this song. It brought tears to my eyes and made it even more known that Heavenly Father really does hear our prayers and knows we are here and knows each us individually and what trials we are facing. I am so grateful for music and the spirit is brings.

He'll carry you by Hilary Weeks
He knows your heart
He knows your pain
He knows the strength it took just too simply breathe today
He sees the tears that you cry
He knows your soul is aching to know why
He hears your prayers each humble word
When you said you couldn’t face another day he understood
He knows the path that you will find
Though you felt alone he’s never left your side

Chorus:
He knew there’d be moments when no earthly words
Could take away your sorrow
And no human eyes could see what you’re going through
When you’ve taken your last step and done all that you can do
He will lift your heavy load and carry you

He’ll bring you peace and leave you hope
And in the darkest night he’ll comfort you
Until you know the sun will rise and each new day
You will have the strength to live again

Chorus:
And when there are moments when no earthly words
can take away your sorrow
And no human eyes could see what you’re going through
When you’ve taken your last step and done all that you can do
He will lift your heavy load and carry you

He hears you when you’re crying in the night
He hears you when your soul longs to find
Till the morning will come
And the light of the dawn reassures

Chorus:
That in the moments when no earthly words
can take away your sorrow
And no human eyes could see what you’re going through
When you’ve taken your last step and done all that you can do
He will lift your heavy load and carry you

Out of the mouth of Coop

Cooper was with Grandma in the car driving to the store when a Yukon drove past. Cooper asked, "What kind of truck is that Grandma?" Grandma replied, "It's a SUV. I drive a little SUV." Cooper says, "You have a S.OB.?"

When they arrived at the store Grandma told Cooper. "Oh Cooper, I am pooped!" Cooper replies, "You pooped your pants???"

Oh Coop!

Yep...those are our pets!

Ok so, here is the story of us becoming proud owners of these pet Ducks! My brother Bennett lives on a fun little farm. Well, every time we go visit Nick and Cooper come home wanting something cool that Bennett has. This time it was pet ducks!! So for Easter Ben and his Family brought us some ducks. They were so so little and fuzzy...pretty cute if you ask me!

They are now growing up big...no longer cute and fuzzy but, i guess now handsome?! Anyway it is a good place to start with us and pets. Cooper helps feed and water them and takes them out to play on the grass...well pretty much chase them until they are exhausted! It has been a fun learning experience! The dogs seem to do fairly well with them and Toby & Peep (the ducks) seem to just hang out on the grass and play in the water. It has been fun to watch them grow! Soon we will find out how well the horses handle them as I am sure the ducks will wander over to the canal by the horses. Feel free to come visit the ducks! :)

Handsome little man-growing up WAY too fast!
Kallie is already 6 months! This age is so much fun ( i think I say that every time but I am seriously loving it!) Some things about Kallie
  • army crawls everywhere! She doesn't stay in one place for very long
  • LOVES Bath time. When I put her in she kicks her arms and legs like crazy and smiles and laughs the whole time

Kallie had her 6 month appointment on April 5th and lucked out because they ran out of two of the immunizations that she needed so she only got one. Shots are so sad to watch as a parent! She is growing very good. He was a little concerned with this growth that all the sudden appeared over the last month and a half and said he honestly didn't know what it was so he is sending us to a dermatologist Tuesday to get it checked out!
Here are her 6 month stats:

Weight: 15 lbs 28%

Height: 25.98 in 56%

Head: 16.9 in 64 %

Cooper is such a crazy kid and comes up with some interesting outfits. Here is the latest....
Let me remind you....it is NOT cold outside! Apparently, he was cold! He loves his "mud boots" from Grandma Aunt Toni (that is what Coop calls her) and wears them ALL the TIME!
He loves exploring in the back yard and is always looking for a new adventure! :)
