FALL

I absolutely LOVE this time of year! The smells are my most favorite...the crisp air, pumpkins, and my hot wassail smelly that is in my warmer right now...mmm so yummy! Everything about this time of year is so fun...sweaters, the glowing fireplace, hot cocoa, thanksgiving, fall colors, etc... I could go on and on. Last night we carved our pumpkins. Cooper had so much fun deciding what to carve on his pumpkin..it turned out cute as for Nick's...the headless pumpkin horseman...hmm not so sure! ;)Cooper is getting so excited for Halloween! He tries on his costume everyday.
I can't believe how fast Cooper is growing...it is happening way to fast! He is such a funny little guy.Today he went outside and came back in and said, "Brrr.. it is so chilly out!" Haha I love the things he says.

Some of his favorite things right now are:
Playing swords
shooting hoops
playing his computer game
school
helping me cut up vegetables (with his sword)
apples
hold kallie
obsessed with telling everyone we have a dog in the backyard (we don't). When told that we don't have a dog he says, yes we do...Daisy! (that is the neighbors dog, apparently it is Coop's dog too :) )
picking up dead spiders
looking for "hairy trianchulas"

Kallie is 4 weeks old today! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. She is such a sweet little babe. She is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time. I just love to hold her...I don't get much done but, I figure they are only little once right? Poor little girl has had such bad gas. It is so sad to see her in pain and then once she gets those toots out she is much better.

As for Nick and I we are just keeping busy with two kids and have appreciated all the help from everyone so much!!
I am starting to feel back to my "normal" self and thanks to Nick i am staying sane by getting out of the house for a bit! Thanks babe! :)

Kallie's Birth

Wednesday the 30th of September I went to my Dr's appointment and was dilated to a 4. I had been having contractions all morning but they were about 5-7 minutes apart. We went and walked around the temple and then I went to lunch with some friends. When I got home I was feeling kind of yucky so I tried to take a nap, ya didn't work... My back was killing and I kept having contractions. Around five Nick had suggested we just go in and get checked so we headed over to the hospital. They hooked me up and checked me. I was still at a four. They had hooked me up and monitored my contractions for an hour. When they came back in I was at a 4+ so I was kind of border line if they were going to keep me or send me home. Dr. Lunt came in and we decided to stay. When we got back to the Labor & Delivery room the nurse checked me and I was at a 5. They got my IV started and we just kind of hung out for a while. Dr. Lunt came in and broke my water and my contractions started getting pretty strong. The nurse gave me some Nubaine to take the edge off and it made me feel so sick. Thanks to one of my wonderful nurses- Kamille for fanning me and making me a hair tie out of a rubber glove :), and my sweet husband for doing anything and everything to help me not throw-up. The bad thing about the Nubaine was that not only did it make me so sick...it didn't help with the pain AT ALL!! I decided to get the epidural since this obviously wasn't helping. I was at a 7 by about 8:30 so we started to call family to let them know we would be having our baby girl soon. (we didn't want to bother them in the middle of the night...when she actually arrived.) Toni, Steph, and Kar came to visit around 10:30 and by then I was progressing pretty quick. Things happened so fast..they got to be there when she was born. She made her entrance right before midnight. 11:55 to be exact! :)

We are having so much fun with our baby girl. Cooper loves helping with her and trying to make her happy by tickling her. It is so fun to watch him with her. He is such a good big brother. Kallie is already growing and changing so fast. We took her to the Dr. on Wed. (10/14) for her 2 week appt. She weighed 7lbs. 2 oz. and was 19.75 in. She is such a sweet little babe and we just can't get enough of her.

Update

I went to the Dr. today and I am dilated to a 3 and pretty much just waiting for closer contractions or my water to break and little miss Kallie will be here. :) I am getting to the point where I am hungry, but can't fit much in my tummy. Sleeping & walking is pretty much miserable. Every morning I have gotten up before seven(that is way early for me) because I can't lay any longer. Nick, Coop, and I have been walking every morning. It is such nice weather right now.

As for Cooper, he and Nick went camping last weekend up in Beaver for their little Father & Son's before the babe comes. They had a lot of fun...they wish they didn't have to come home so soon. This was Cooper's first experience with sleeping out under the stars and he LOVED it!
Cooper has been enjoying his days at Preschool. He was so proud of his painting that it is displayed for all to see on the fridge.

He is growing up so fast...I can't believe my eyes. He has been such a good helper lately at cleaning up his room, helping with dinner, and setting the table. The other day we were driving home and Cooper looked out the window and said, "Mom, it's a shooting star!" (it was a jet stream but, to him it looked just like a shooting star!)

First Day of Preschool

Today was Cooper's First Day of Preschool. He was so excited to go to school. Last Night he picked out his clothes and set them out and put his backpack and shoes right by them so he could wake up and be all ready. We left a little early so that we could time it from our house. We drove by and Cooper said, "Hey, that's my school....go back!" I think Nick and I were more nervous than he was. We got to school and he got to play with the kids while we had parent orientation. He was very excited that Jona, Michael, and Chandler are all in his class. He has a class full of boys there are only 4 girls in his class. After, we went outside and played on the playground and ate snacks & lemonade.

Baby Update

Yesterday I went to my Dr. Appt. (35 1/2 weeks). They did they Step B culture and checked me. I am 60% effaced and dilated to a 2. I have just started feeling contractions over the last week. I feeling pretty uncomfortable now...I forget how uncomfortable the last month is! Other than that, I am doing good...and Cooper is being a good helper at helping me getting things ready for her arrival. He is excited to go stay with Kaylee & Mikelle while we are in the hospital that he is gathering all his "stuff" to take to sleep-over.

6 more weeks!!!

(Don't mind the dirty mirror)

I am so excited to report that I only have 6 more weeks!! Yahoo!

Things to remember....
  • She is moving quite a bit now and is most active when I am laying in bed.
  • She always goes crazy when I eat ice cream
  • I am always HOT! I always have to have a fan on or the air in the car on pretty much full blast!
  • I still throw up whenever I cook hamburger. The smell just is horrible!
  • Non-stop heartburn
  • She gets the hiccups almost every morning
Cravings....food I probably eat way too much of:
  • Root Beer
  • Oreo cookies dipped in milk
  • Turkey Sandwiches
  • In n' out cheeseburgers
  • Homemade bean burritos
  • Apples
  • Nectarines
  • Watermelon
  • Cheese Quesadillas
  • Mint Oreo Ice Cream
  • Milk Shakes
  • Cupcakes
  • LOTS & LOTS of Ice Water
My toe has been swollen for quite a while and the other night (8-26-09) I was getting ready to get in the bath and noticed my toe was bright red and it was starting to throb. It would hurt every time I pushed on my toenail so I took my toenail polish off and was in disgust. My toe starting oozing puss out the side of the toenail and it was all nasty underneath the nail. I soaked my toe and most of the puss came out. I called the next morning to get into the doctor to check it out and he said it was pretty infected so he shaved down my toenail and gave me so topical bacterial medicine to clear it up. Today (Fri) it is already feeling much better. Still swollen but, the redness is gone.

Speaking of yucky infection... a couple weekends ago (8/15/09) we went swimming at the Washington City Pool. We came home, showered, and I was cleaning out Coop's ears. I noticed something white in his ear that was pretty much taking up his whole ear canal. I tried to carefully see if I could break through it. I couldn't even get through it and so I decided Monday morning to call his doc to see what was up. We went in and got his ear checked out. The result.......Swimmer's ear! Poor guy had to do antibiotic drops for a week and NO SWIMMING that week. (That was rough for him, but we survived!)

Big Brother Class

Wednesday was the Sibling Prep Class at the hospital. It was a lot of fun! Each child got to hold the life like baby and tell how we can take care of the baby. They each got a stuffed baby and drew a face on it. Cooper said his baby was a girl because he is having a sister.
To my surprise he did really well at putting the diaper on. Good Job Coop!
I love his cheeser face
Holding baby GiGi (he named her) Baby GiGi with her lovely PINK hair I think we are all very excited for baby girl to arrive!

Photo shoot

Cooper has really loved taking pictures lately. Here are some of his lovely pictures. I love how he takes pictures of everything....especially his self portraits.

For the Love of Tractors

Since construction has started up again across the street Cooper has been over there about everyday! He LOVES tractors. Lately when Cooper is no where in site I just open the front door and find Mr. Coop driving the tractor across the road. Silly Boy!
